Ebooks in 2021 and beyond... should be anywhere between 15 to 100 pages in length. Using Amazon's number of words as a guide, a 5,000 word ebook would equal to about 27 pages, and a 6,000 word ebook would be about 32 pages. So, 1000 words represent about 5 ebook pages. And 2,500 words, which is Amazon's minimum acceptable word count for an ebook, means your ebooks must have at least 15 pages, or they won't accept it. Again, 15 to 100 pages is right length for most How-To-Ebooks, or ebooks in general. The only exception is, if you are writing an ebook novel. For more about ebook length, check out my video What Is An Ebook. Because ebooks are electronic in nature and are intended for an audience that isn't reading them like a novel, they are far shorter than paper books, which typically vary from 200 to 300 pages. They are mostly informative, while splashes of humor and enjoyment are acceptable. People who buy ebooks are looking for solutions rather than amusement, and they want information rather than fluff. They also expect it to be a quick read, as they are accustomed to reading short Web articles or even brief reports. For this audience, 50 pages is will work, but no more than 100 pages should be used. Word count in ebooks isn’t nearly as important as it was in print books. As long as you write a complete story, message, or answer, and don’t charge too much, most readers will be satisfied. Also, don’t fill your book with fluff to meet a page requirement, because requirements rarely exist for ebooks. |
